Dalila Flores Castillo
Welcome to my portfolio. I’m Dalila Flores Castillo, an interdisciplinary researcher and cultural creator focused on the intersections of technology, media, and music within contemporary audiovisual culture.
I’m pursuing a PhD in Journalism at Universidad Complutense de Madrid (UCM), where I explore Actor-Network Theory, digital audiences, media and hybrid narratives. I founded Pulpo Escarlata, a creative and academic collective connecting culture and sociopolitical analysis, I also created Notas en Frame, a podcast and platform dedicated to the sociocultural study of music in film and series.
Through research, music curation, sociocultural analysis, and collaborative projects, I work to bridge academic insight and creative practice, expanding how audiences experience and understand audiovisual storytelling and cultural products.

Background
Shaped by a fascination with how music and media influence society, Dalila Flores Castillo has cultivated an interdisciplinary path that blends research and cultural creation. Beginning with a degree in Biotechnology Engineering, she moved into journalism studies and is now pursuing a PhD at UCM, focusing on Actor–Network Theory, science communication, and hybrid narratives.
This academic journey fuels her creative work. She founded Notas en Frame to explore film scores and cinematic culture from a sociocultural perspective, and established Pulpo Escarlata as a collective to promote diversity, dialogue, and new ways of thinking about culture.
Today, Dalila uses her research background and creative practice to curate music, analyze cultural trends, and participate in conferences and collaborative projects, continually building bridges between academic insight and the living culture of film and music.
